The Government of Navarra has presented the Supramunicipal Impact Sectoral Plan (SISP) for the expansion of the residential area of Sarriguren (Egües Valley/Eguesibar), Navarra. KREAN was awarded the contract to draft the complete technical document, including the necessary documentation for its final approval.

The SISP being developed by KREAN is a proposal that sets out a development plan based on criteria of territorial sustainability, integration into the landscape and efficient use of resources. The new development is designed to be physically and functionally continuous with the existing town of Sarriguren. The area will cover approximately 100 hectares, to which a further 30 hectares will be added for the construction of new access roads.

The plan, which will be implemented in several phases, provides for:
·        Approximately 6,000 homes in blocks of flats ranging from six to ten storeys in height, of which between 70–80 per cent could be social housing in its various forms.
·        Reserved areas for public facilities: land for the provincial public housing fund and for public educational, healthcare, sports, cultural and welfare facilities.
·        Areas of green spaces and public open spaces; incorporating natural features such as two streams designed as riverside parks and three natural elevations in the terrain as green spaces and parks.
·        Provision for the urban layout and building typology to allow for the integration of all types of retail premises.
·        Prioritisation of the location and quality of public spaces and facilities (centrality, sustainable design, accessibility, safety, etc.)
·        Bioclimatic design and energy efficiency.
·        New access routes to the north (Olaz), south (Mendillorri and Mutilva) and the central area (Mugartea), improvements to existing routes (Erripagaña and Olaz) and a new PA-30 service road.

The Department of Territorial Cohesion of the Government of Navarra established the criteria for the development of the SISP as a public initiative enabling the construction of social housing; offering its residents a high quality of life through efficient, sustainable, accessible and safe design, with high-quality, well-connected public spaces and facilities; with particular attention to external and internal connectivity; featuring compact development that respects the surrounding environment; and integrating with the Sarriguren Eco-City to achieve a unified, coherent and well-articulated whole.
