The Provincial Council of Álava has completed the Álava Reuse Preparation Centre project with the completion of the construction works, carried out by KREAN and ZIKOTZ after they were awarded the contract for the design and subsequent construction of the infrastructure.

The building is situated in Jundiz (Vitoria-Gasteiz) and is organised into different functional areas to ensure a comprehensive process: access control, reception and weighing; unloading, inspection and sorting area; waste storage and characterisation areas; a mechanical treatment area for separation and shredding, together with storage for the resulting material; and a specific preparation area for reuse, which includes a repair area and a warehouse for restored products. In addition, there are offices, an environmental education room, changing rooms and spaces for the storage and display of recovered products.

The centre has been designed in accordance with environmental sustainability criteria and incorporates energy-efficiency measures, such as the installation of photovoltaic panels on its roof; rainwater collection systems for reuse; and initiatives aimed at promoting more sustainable mobility, through the provision of charging points for electric vehicles and bicycle parking facilities.
