The company Canal de Navarra, S.A. (CANASA), as a result of the collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment and the Community of Navarra for the construction of the Navarra canal, asked KREAN for the 28.6 MW hydroelectric power plant project at the foot of the Itoiz dam.

The project envisages the installation of two vertical axis Francis turbines, fed by a maximum flow of 15 m³/s each, making a total of 30 m³/s. The gross head will be 107.12 m and the minimum head will be 50.6 m, depending on the filling level of the dam. The water is conveyed through an external pipe 30 m long and with a diameter of 3100 mm.
