Opening of the authorised Toyota and Lexus dealerships in Donostia-San Sebastián

KREAN has been in charge of the project, project management and BREEAM certification of the Toyota and Lexus San Sebastian dealerships of GORLA AUTO GROUP in the Belartza industrial estate in Donostia-San Sebastian.

GORLA AUTO GROUP has entrusted KREAN to consolidate a long process carried out with the Donostia-San Sebastián City Council in order to obtain the necessary authorisations for the fitting out of two warehouses located on the mezzanine and roof of the Belartza Shopping Centre. KREAN has also managed the incorporation of brand style criteria into the project, reforming the existing volumes to adapt them to the needs determined by Lexus and Toyota and Gorla Auto Group.

The project and the works have been carried out following the Sustainable Construction procedure, which has enabled it to achieve the BREEAM ® Environmental Certificate in the Very Good category, this Lexus Authorised Centre being the first in Spain to be certified with this seal. Passive energy measures of bioclimatic architecture and active energy efficiency measures have been adopted, measures from the point of view of materials, non-polluting and environmentally friendly, and measures for the management of water and resources.

The proposed intervention is based on the adaption of two existing warehouses, which were unused and unfinished, acting on their interior and part of their envelope. The main actions have been:

• Construction of a mezzanine for offices, that provide service to the workshop and dealership.
• Redistribution of the workshop and dealership, at the service of Lexus/Toyota.
• Adjustment of the proposed façade openings and cladding, in accordance with the interior layout.
• In view the new needs of the brands, analysis of flows of people (workers and customers) and vehicles. The interior is organised around three distinct areas: vehicle workshop area, vehicle display area and administration and office area.
