KREAN carries out the project and construction management of the El Boulevard shopping centre refurbishment in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Within the investment framework by CBRE INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT SOUTHERN EUROPE S.L.U., for the refurbishment of the El Boulevard Shopping Centre in the capital city of Alava, KREAN is drafting the execution project and is responsible for the construction management of this project. The project is currently in the tendering phase.

The action will be carried out with the aim of meeting the necessary requirements to achieve the BREEAM "Excellent" rating, focusing on plumbing, on a grey water reuse system, on the origin of the wood and on the requirement for an environmental declaration for all cladding, among other measures. This objective has a significant weight considering Vitoria's status as European Green Capital 2012 and being a benchmark of sustainable cities.

The aim of this intervention is to completely reshape the interior image of the centre, integrating two aesthetics in the gallery, which allow the different areas of the centre to be identified through the finishes, including floors, ceilings and partitions and in the furniture elements that are implemented.

On the one hand, an ambience is created that provides a sense of warmth, with wood finishes and earth tones, in the main entrance and throughout the southern mall/shopping gallery. And the northern area is clad in white colours, giving a more minimalist and cooler impression. The whole is aesthetically unified thanks to the implementation of vegetation throughout the centre, which is present in the rest areas, the entrances to the toilets and, most notably, in a vegetal wall that will occupy one side of the Plaza Nodal on the first floor. In the same way, the signage and lighting will be renewed with a unified criterion, homogenizing the atmosphere of the centre, which is achieved by adding areas with decorative illuminating to the more functional lighting, as well as backlighting the signage.

This intervention also includes the redesign and updating of the toilets, following the same conceptual line of the centre. The ground floor shop fronts are also being raised, an aspect that is highly valued in shopping centres, as it gives the premises a larger display area and more visibility in the mall.
