SD Eibar has entrusted KREAN with the creation of a lively, sustainable and modern project.
SD Eibar launched its new Sports City last July. Located in Alto de Areitio, Mallabia (Bizkaia), it already serves as the base of operations for the 2025/26 season and as the hub of the club and its youth teams.
Following the completion of the first phase of the works, the teams now have modern facilities adapted to their needs, in a space designed to promote the club's sporting and training development.
The project, led by KREAN, includes the construction of the Tribune Building, five football pitches (two natural grass and three artificial turf) and the associated urban development. All this on a total area of 107,900 m², which also includes a 2,000 m³ irrigation reservoir, a 285-space car park and a stand with a capacity for 1,620 spectators.
The main building houses a gym, physiotherapy room, study room, classrooms, medical consultation rooms, laundry and service room. On the ground floor there are 17 changing rooms, toilets and storage rooms that provide daily service to the athletes. The mezzanine floor houses the offices, studies and coworking areas.
The collaboration with KREAN has resulted in a functional, sustainable design that is in line with SD Eibar's vision for the future. One example of this is the wooden roof of the grandstand, which incorporates a self-consumption energy system using photovoltaic panels in the central area. The Sports City also incorporates an innovative system for collecting water, both rainwater and river water, for irrigating the pitches. This system not only optimises the available water resources, but also reflects the club's commitment to a responsible and environmentally friendly model.
The new facilities represent a decisive step forward in the club's commitment to its youth teams and the professionalisation of its structure, offering first-class training, working and living spaces.
With this first phase now operational, the Sports City is consolidating its position as a strategic asset serving the club, its players and its fans. This tangible project for the growth of SD Eibar is entering its final phase with the construction of the building for the men's first team, scheduled for completion in 2026.
