Araba Data Centre achieves Tier III Design certification with technical support from KREAN

Araba Data Centre – Phase I has achieved Tier III Design certification from the Uptime Institute, an international accreditation that attests to the quality, availability and robustness of the infrastructure design. The certification is valid until September 10th, 2027.

Achieving this milestone has been made possible thanks to the specialist technical work of KREAN, a firm contracted by the joint venture (DOMINION-EBI-TECMAN) responsible for the project. KREAN was responsible for drafting all the technical design documentation, complying with the Uptime Institute’s demanding standards and ensuring that the project met all the redundancy and availability requirements characteristic of a Tier III data centre.

This documentation was subsequently reviewed by PQC as the Construction Supervisor and Kyndryl as the Commissioning Agent, who verified its consistency and completeness prior to its official submission to the Uptime Institute. The final result has enabled the project to obtain Tier III Design certification, confirming the quality of the work carried out.

The project is currently moving towards the phase of obtaining the construction certification, Tier III Constructed Facility, which assesses the proper on-site implementation of the previously certified design. This new certification is not included in the scope of the services contracted from KREAN and is expected to be achieved by the end of this summer, continuing the process of independent validation of the infrastructure.
